Madeleine is designed to be simple enough that it rarely needs explaining, but if something isn't working the way you expect, this page should help — or get you in touch with us.

How Madeleine works

Each evening you answer a short set of questions about your day, log up to three tasks with a Flow/Neutral/Drain zone, and Madeleine builds weekly and monthly summaries from your entries. There's no account and nothing to configure to get started.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. Madeleine works fully offline and never requires a login.

Where is my data stored?

All entries are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud backup, your data is also backed up to your personal iCloud account via Apple's own iCloud storage — Madeleine does not run its own servers or database.

Can I get a reminder to fill it in?

Yes — Madeleine can send a single evening notification to remind you to check in. You can turn this off at any time in your device's notification settings.

Can I export or delete my data?

Since everything lives on your device, uninstalling the app removes all of your Madeleine data. If you use iCloud backup, deleting the app's iCloud data can be done from your device's iCloud storage settings.
