Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 19, 2026
Madeleine ("the app") is built by Code and Pastries. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
What Madeleine collects
Madeleine does not require an account and does not collect personal information to use the app. The journal entries you write — your daily check-ins, task notes, and reflections — are stored locally on your device.
iCloud backup
If you enable backup, your local data is copied to your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud storage. This data is only accessible to you through your own Apple ID and is never sent to or stored on servers operated by Code and Pastries.
Crash and error reporting
Madeleine uses Sentry to capture crash reports and error diagnostics, which helps us fix bugs. This data can include device information and app usage context at the time of a crash, but does not include the contents of your journal entries.
What Madeleine does not do
- No account creation or login
- No advertising or ad tracking
- No sale of personal data
- No social features or sharing of your entries
Children's privacy
Madeleine is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
