Madeleine

Madeleine

A daily ritual for work.

Madeleine is a small daily ritual — a moment, in the subway on the way home, to notice how work felt today. Named after Proust's madeleine, the taste that unlocked a flood of memory: the idea is simple. A tiny act of attention now becomes something worth reflecting on later.

Each evening, Madeleine asks five quick questions — how satisfied you felt, how tired, how much you learned, how easy it was to focus, whether you felt in control — plus a few words for your state of mind. Add up to three tasks and mark whether they energized you or drained you. That's it. Under two minutes.
